THE LUNG

El Pulmón is a calm and very rewarding dive site, ideal for beginner dives, courses, and divers who want to enjoy marine life without great depths. Its rocky bottoms and mixed areas offer numerous hiding places to observe typical Mediterranean fauna.

During the dive, it's common to find octopuses, nudibranchs, and perfectly camouflaged bottom-dwelling fish. Thanks to its gentle profile and generally good visibility, El Pulmón is a highly recommended dive site for underwater photography, relaxed diving, and for those who want to gain confidence underwater.

Recommended level: Open Water

Difficulty: Easy

Depth: From 5 to 12 months

Featured marine life: Octopuses, nudibranchs, salps, electric rays, ratfish, scorpionfish, sole, seahorses and schools of fish.

 

THE TUBES

Los Tubos is one of the most popular and accessible dive sites in La Herradura, perfect for Open Water divers and those seeking a relaxed yet comprehensive shallow dive. The seabed combines rocky areas with natural structures that provide refuge for a wide variety of marine life.

It's common to find octopuses, nudibranchs, and camouflaged fish like scorpionfish and flounders, as well as schools of salema porgies and migrating fish. Its shallow depth allows for long bottom times, making it an ideal dive site for leisurely enjoyment and improving skills like buoyancy control.

Recommended level: Open Water

Difficulty: Easy

Depth: From 5 to 12 months

Featured marine life: Octopuses, nudibranchs, salps, electric rays, ratfish, scorpionfish, sole, seahorses and schools of fish.

The Little Cove

La Calita is one of the most comprehensive dive sites in La Herradura, ideal for both Open Water and advanced divers. Its route combines shallow and deeper areas with rock formations full of crevices, allowing the dive to be adapted to the group's skill level. It stands out for its rich biodiversity and is highly valued by underwater photographers.

This dive is only done when boat dives are available.

Recommended level: Open Water / Advanced

Difficulty: Easy – Medium

Depth: Up to ~36 m

Featured marine life: Nudibranchs, octopuses, conger eels, moray eels, hake, schools of fish and, occasionally, ocean sunfish (Cool cool).

 

Stone of Man

Piedra del Hombre, also known as El Salto. The dive takes you around large rock formations teeming with marine life, especially schools of fish. It's a calm dive, perfect for enjoying uncomplicated diving and for those who want to gain experience in a safe environment.

Recommended level: Open Water

Difficulty: Easy

Depth: Up to ~18 m

Featured marine life: Schools of fish, octopuses, conger eels, nudibranchs and typical Mediterranean rock fauna.
